The canvas

The canvas is where you build a workflow. Each step is a tile showing the app’s logo, with its action and app name underneath. Lines between tiles are connections: they show which step runs next.

1 ← Workflows · name · status Back to your agents. The pill shows Draft, Live or Paused (change it from ⋯).
2 Undo / Redo Step back or forward through canvas changes.
3 Arrange workflow / Direction Tidy all tiles into neat rows. LR / TB switches between left-to-right and top-to-bottom layout.
4 Add sticky note / Frame a branch Notes for your team, and labelled boxes around groups of steps. See Notes and frames.
5 Connect Join two existing steps with a new connection.
6 Add step Open the app picker and place a new step.
7 History Every run of this workflow. See Run history.
8 Run once Start the workflow by hand. Only available when the first step is an action, not a trigger.
9 ⋯ More Workflow status, Schedules & delays, Export workflow (as JSON) and Editor help & shortcuts.

Hover a tile to see a summary card: the action, the app, whether it starts the workflow, and its setup state (account connected, fields saved, test passed).

Hover a tile to see what it still needs.
Hovering the Google Sheets tile shows a card: Draft, no account connected yet, fields not saved yet, not tested yet

Small badges on a tile’s corners tell you its state at a glance:

Badge Meaning
Lightning bolt (blue, top-left) This step starts the workflow (a trigger).
Plug (amber, top-right) The step still needs an account connected.
Pencil (top-right) The step is Draft: fields or a test are still to do.
Warning triangle Something needs attention; hover the tile for details.
Tick, cross or clock (bottom-right) The last run’s result for this step: succeeded, failed or waiting.

There are three ways to add a step:

  • + on a tile (Add next step) adds a step right after it, already connected.
  • + on a connection (hover the line) inserts a step between two steps. Any conditions on that line stay before the new step.
  • Add step in the header places a free step. Join it with Connect, or by dragging from one tile’s right-hand dot to another tile’s left-hand dot.

  • Click a tile to open its panel with the Setup, Configure and Test tabs. The panel’s expand button makes it wider.
  • Drag a tile to move it. Drag the empty canvas to pan. Pinch, or use the zoom buttons, to zoom.
  • Shift + drag draws a box to select several tiles. ⌘ or Ctrl + click adds to the selection.
  • In a step’s panel, turn on Node actions for Copy, Cut, Duplicate, Duplicate branch, Paste and Delete.
  • Double-click a connection to edit its conditions. See Conditions and paths.

Along the bottom: the number of steps and connections, how many items are to review, the last run and its result (click it to show that run on the canvas), whether everything is saved (All changes saved), and the zoom controls: zoom out, the zoom level, zoom in, Fit workflow to screen and Show minimap.
