Connect an app
Most steps work inside another app, so they need one of your accounts there. You connect an account once; it’s saved as an app connection that every workflow can use.
1To work inside another app, Auto Appy needs your permission. You give it once, and it's saved as a connection.
2In Auto Appy, pick the app (here, Google Sheets) and click Connect.
3The app's own sign-in window opens. You sign in there, so Auto Appy never sees your password.
4Google lists what Auto Appy is asking to do. You click Allow.
5Google hands Auto Appy a secure pass, saved as your connection. Every workflow can use it, and you can remove it any time.
Two places to connect

- Give it a New Connection Name you’ll recognise, such as Sales Gmail.
- Either click Connect with App (sign in and Allow) or fill the credential fields (API key apps), then click Save Connection.
- Next time, choose Existing Connection and pick it from the list.
-
Go to Settings → App connections.

Click Connect an app.
-
Pick the App, the Authentication method if it offers more than one, and a Connection name (for example Marketing account).
-
Click Connect field to sign in, or fill the credential fields, then Save connection.
Sign-in apps (Google, Microsoft and others)
Section titled “Sign-in apps (Google, Microsoft and others)”Clicking Connect with Google opens the app’s own sign-in window:
- Choose the account.
- Read what Auto Appy is asking to do, then click Allow.
- The window closes and the connection is saved.
If nothing opens, your browser blocked the pop-up: allow pop-ups for autoappy.com and try again.
API-key apps
Section titled “API-key apps”Many apps give you a key instead of a sign-in. Find it in that app’s settings (often under API, Integrations or Developers), copy it, and paste it into the connection form. Each app’s field hints explain exactly what’s needed.
Connecting Auto Appy’s own apps
Section titled “Connecting Auto Appy’s own apps”Auto Appy WhatsApp, Auto Appy CRM and Auto Appy AI connect with two values:
| Field | Where to find it |
|---|---|
| Auto Appy organisation ID | Your central organisation ID, a long code like 9f1c2e7a-4b5d-…. It’s not the WhatsApp or CRM workspace number. If you don’t have it, ask your organisation’s owner, or the Auto Appy team through Help. |
| API key | Create one in that product’s Settings → API keys. Choose Read and write if the workflow sends messages or creates records. |
Who can use a connection
Section titled “Who can use a connection”Only the owner of a workflow chooses which connection each step uses. Credentials are never shown again after saving, to you or to anyone else; you can only replace them.
