Notes and frames

As workflows grow, a few words on the canvas save a lot of guessing. Notes and frames are for people only: they never change how the workflow runs.

  1. Click Add sticky note in the editor header (the page icon). A note appears in the middle of the canvas.
  2. Double-click it and type. Click outside to save.
  3. Use the coloured dots on the note to change its colour, the dotted handle to drag it, and the bin to delete it. Drag its corners to resize.

Good things to write in a note:

  • where the trigger’s data comes from (“Leads from the website contact form”),
  • who to ask before changing something,
  • why a condition exists (“Only hot leads; others go to the weekly sheet”).

A frame is a labelled box around a group of steps, such as “Hot leads” or “Payment follow-up”.

  1. Select the step (or steps) that start the branch. Shift + drag selects several.
  2. Click Frame a branch (the dotted-square icon). A labelled frame is drawn around the branch.
  3. Double-click the frame’s title to rename it.
