Steps and actions

A step is one app doing one action: Google Sheets → Insert a row, Auto Appy WhatsApp → Send approved template, Delay → Wait 2 days.

Choosing the app and action

Click + on a tile, + on a connection, or Add step. In Add a step, search the 1,200+ apps, pick one, then pick its action. Each action says either Starts the workflow (a trigger) or Performs an action.

The three tabs

Clicking a tile opens its panel. Work through the tabs from left to right; each shows a tick when it’s done.

Tab	What you do there
Setup	Connect the account the step should use (Existing Connection or Create New Connection). Webhook triggers show their URL here.
Configure	Fill the action’s fields. Type text, choose from dropdowns, or map data from earlier steps. Then Save & continue.
Test	Click Test This Node to run the step for real with sample data, and see its output.

Fields

• (Required) fields must be filled, either typed or mapped.
• Dropdowns such as a spreadsheet, a WhatsApp number or a CRM pipeline load their choices from your connected account, so connect the account first.
• Map Data: tick it under a dropdown to type or map a value instead of choosing one, for example an ID that comes from an earlier step.
• Some fields appear only after you choose another one. For example, a sheet’s columns appear after you pick the sheet.
• Hints under each field explain the format, such as phone with country code.

Built-in tools

Auto Appy has its own helper apps that need no account:

The tile shows the action name. When a workflow grows, add a sticky note so your team knows what each part is for.
